“ Found this fish shop on google on our way back home to Wakefield, it was a Sunday. the best fish and chips ever, freshly made tartare sauce and the biggest fish ever! The chips was so tasty and the curry sauce was amazing, wish they had that in our local. Amazing hospitality really friendly I would highly recommend this little gem to anybody, you won’t be disappointed ”

“ The fish and chips are always good but this time they surpassed themselves. I ordered Plaice. It was absolutely delicious!! Thank you ”

- Rebecca Lyng -

“ Whilst out we popped here for some lunch. The shop is very clean and really nicely decked out. The staff were really nice and pleasant. The cost was a little on the high side. The food, the fish looked overdone with the batter looking quite dark but when I cut into the fish it was beautiful. Real pleasure to eat. The chips golden brown and very very nice. The Tartar sauce was amazing. My partner said hers was lovely and the patty was thick fresh and good quality. ”

- GRUMPY FOX -

“ Great reasonably priced fresh fish chippy. Just what you want - very enjoyable and wibble free ”

- Clive Arzeian -

“ Great to find a chippy that fry everything in vegetable oil instead of beef dripping, reasonably priced for us vegans going for pattie and chips, though we found the patties a bit bland and the curry sauce wasn’t quite what we expected, though appreciate that’s often different wherever you go, so that’s quite subjective! ”

- Matt Sharp -

“ Great food, pleasant and helpful staff, bit pricey, but then again I am comparing Fish & Chips out of newspaper in the 70's. However, the quality is great for the price, so I keep going back. ”

- Dave Wynn -

“ I love the fish and chips from here. The fish is very fresh and cooked to order (the owner asks if you want fish when you go in), and the chips are fantastic. My wife's very fussy about the freshness of fish, and it always gets the thumbs-up from her. I'm originally from the North West, and every time someone from back home comes to visit me in Brough, I treat them to a 53 Degrees North. Without exception, they've all remarked that it's the best fish and chips they've ever tasted. My brother-in-law is from the south coast, and he said the same. If I could change one minor thing, I prefer Chinese style curry sauce. But there's a Chinese takeaway next door, so I just pop there while I'm waiting for my fish to fry. ”
